When I read this kind of crap from spoiled over-fed drama queens, I always remember my childhood when I only saw cheese once a year and our mothers had to invest hundreds of hours into hunting after a sad can of peas. One has be really blind to what alternatives to capitalism look like to have the gall to whine about pizza with a wrong crust.

I’m so tired of hearing about the Trayvon Martin case. The whole thing has been politicized to the point where I can’t even tell who’s telling the truth, so I haven’t kept up with the trial or any of that stuff at all. I think George Zimmerman himself is also part Hispanic.
I’m also happy that DOMA is dead. What a pointless law to have at all. Hopefully the next step will be taken.

You will be amused and unsurprised to know that the Chronicle of Higher Ed rejected that diploma-mill piece. Is it because as writing, it stinks? Perhaps. Is it because it is decidedly advertiser-unfriendly (Western Governors “University” is a big online advertiser)? Wouldn’t want to make any assumptions. Is it because it insists, in my old-fashioned way, that going to class and being expected to learn something are the only appropriate avenues to a college education, and thus against the “competency based”/MOOC trend? I’ll never know. Either way, I thought you’d find that interesting.

that attitude, regarding any sort of injustice, not to mention bad behavior or craziness, has become the norm. I don’t know when it began to be so, but the attitude of “everybody has a point and is entitled to their perspective, no matter how outrageous, unless of course we do not like you”, just goes on and on.

Thank you for posting the link to the “Scam U” post. I’ve been noticing the verbiage “non-profit” in the advertising for universities I’ve never heard of. This confirms my suspicion that it’s some kind of non-profit-in-name-only arrangement borne out of loopholes and the like.

I have some comments about it.
1) This post is bad. He talked about capitalism and free markets but he doesn’t know what those terms means. The last sentence of his post is a raving lunacy.
2) I agree that capitalism reduces food choices but bolchevism is way worse. This is not the case in a real free market, enhancing non-market alternatives.
3) Capitalism/bolchevism is not the only alternative to bolchevism/capitalism. There are plenty of other alternatives.

I talked about even alternatives that we don’t know about.
A successful case of self-management by workers was in function at the beginning of the Israeli Kibbutz. Unfortunately, those kibbutzim are becoming too close of the government, so this is in the neighborhood of capitalism. 😦
