      1. \Many people have a very short-term memory.

\ It’s because nobody watches TV anymore.

Don’t people consume news via online newspapers and free news sites?

How is it different from TV?

          1. Wait a minute!
Isn’t the news media STILL blaming every mass shooting and other violent attacks in public and commercial squares on ISIS?
Aren’t all violent crimes now “Inspired by ISIS”, even when they’re of a one-on-one nature?

            1. Yes, but to know that you need to access the news media. Many people don’t. It’s impossible for people like me and you to understand but there are many folks who don’t know, for instance, there was an inauguration yesterday.

  1. On another topic, have you read Flannery O’Connor’s short story “Everything That Rises Must Converge”? I read it today and was impressed.

Previously, I have only read “”Greenleaf” and it was too full of Christian symbolism to work for me. The other story also has this symbolism, but it worked.

What do you think of this son and mother? I felt sympathy for her from the beginning and could identify with both main characters.

    1. Good story! It’s interesting how so little has changed. These same two types of racism still exist and are as strong as ever. The son would be wearing a damn pin today and protesting against sombreros on Halloween while the mother would be voting for Trump.
