  2. A numerical (or maybe numerological) note: 36 is the smallest number larger than one which is both square and triangular. To see this, take 36 pennies (or other identical coins) and arrange them on a flat table surface. You can make either a square six coins on a side, or an equilateral triangle eight coins on a side. It is probably the last time your age will do this, since (IIRC) the next number which is both square and triangular is 1225.

    1. I considered getting all the way to 1225 years old, but our state is trying to pass an amendment that will allow the government to mess with our pensions, so maybe not. πŸ™‚
