Cognitive Limitations

I probably have cognitive limitations because I honestly, sincerely don’t believe anybody in their right mind can think that the mentorship scheme described in the previous post can bring any good. I don’t believe that the scheme was hatched by intelligent folks are who are well-intentioned but misguided. They are either dimwits or evildoers. I don’t see another possibility.

    I find myself thinking that a lot lately about a lot of things going on in Europe and the US and wondering which is worse…
    In this case, I don’t think they’re stupid. My feeling is that this is a trial balloon* and if it isn’t shot down extremely rapidly with extreme prejudice there will be more and worse.
    And the bastards behind this don’t even have the excuse of being in a dictatorship.

    *my second thought is that this is a way to cleanse the universities of white men with a bunch of metoo stories in 6 months to a year…

    They are merely trying to gain / increase influence and earn money “under a new Government funded scheme.”

  3. It’s that everything is turned upside down now and called good. In the past, these guys would have been assigned to do positive things for the newer faculty. Now the newer faculty is assigned to do some sort of political therapy on them.
