One thing is obvious: Obama can give a darn good speech:
“This whole notion that has sprung up recently about Democrats’ need to choose between trying to appeal to white working-class voters, or voters of color and women and LGBT Americans—that’s nonsense,” he said. “I got votes from every demographic. We won because we reached out to everybody and [by] competing everywhere and by fighting for every vote, and that’s what we’ve got to do in this election and every election after that.”

Haven’t watched the speech yet, but based on what I read here I need to. Dropping so many truth bombs!

He’s doing really good work for the midterms. Here in Illinois I’m sure it’ll have an impact.

I can’t wait until he comes to my district! Nothing planned yet but I’m sure there will be something.

Nice words, but this isn’t the message that the hyper-energized far-left Democrats taking over his party are preaching — and won’t be saying if they’re in control of the party during the 2020 elections.
Obama has always given good speeches, but he isn’t speaking for the current (“Abolish ICE! Impeach Trump! Free everything for everybody!”) Democratic Party. Corey Booker, Kamala Harris, and DNC chairman Tom Perez are its superstars now.

That’s only true for a handful of places that haven’t had a Republican challenger since before Christ. Here in Illinois it wouldn’t occur to anybody to do this kind of thing.
