Political correctness [is] a modeof exercising power within an intramural contest between rival elites. In this contest, the fetishistic invocation of the “marginalized” is a tool the powerful use to increase the power of a given group, often to the detriment of the very people they purport to represent. The study shows that virtually no one who does not directly benefit from the exercise of this power (in the form of sinecures, professional advancement, or the destruction of rivals within liberal institutions) supports it.
Everybody hates it but still puts up with it.

Feds investigating suspicious packages sent to the Clintons and Barack Obama
The U.S. Secret Service said Wednesday that “potential explosive devices” were sent to former President Barack Obama and ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
A law enforcement official told The New York Times that the “explosive device” sent to the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York, was found by a technician who screens mail for the former president and his family.
The Secret Service said in a statement that the package addressed to Obama was intercepted by agency personnel in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday morning.

What I dislike most about Political Correctness is that it’s, more or less, a throwback to the traditional old-school concept of censorship.
It caters primarily to the “won’t watch a movie unless it has a happy ending” type of mindset
…to the weak-minded souls who are in constant need of self-assurance, compliments, hugs-and-kisses, and congratulatory pat-on-the-backs
…to the “know alls” who are “right all the time” but still have a need for “validation”
…to the naive with weak stomachs who depend on their lives being an existence of some kind of utopia and just can’t handle the harsh realities of the world
…to the puritan-minded who have to have everything presented to them in a sugarcoated and toned-down manner
…to the kind who take for granted expectations of unconditional reverence and respect from others, even while often being thoughtless and judgmental themselves
