No Insight Day

I’m very exhausted today because I’m putting up outside Christmas decorations, and it’s very cold, so I have to do it in a heavy coat and running inside every 10 minutes. So I have no interesting insights into anything.

I do, however, have a fun link about book censorship.

  1. The craft’s specific name is spelled “InSight,” and it’s an acronym for “Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport.”

And its successful landing was BIG news yesterday! Sixty percent of NASA’s attempts to land robotic craft on Mars have ended in failure.

It’s not new, but the book censorship link underscores that fluidity and individual freedom are fundamentally incompatible. Fluidity washes away the institutional structures that are necessary for individual liberties such as freedom of expression to be maintained.
Fluidity is packaged as individual choice and freedom but in practice means reasserting group identity in a context of mutually hostile peoples involved in constant low level hostilities over resources.
    Individuals are not fluid.
