NYTimes: What Happens If …

I find it impossible to believe that people would write this kind of deluded stuff over the silly Mueller investigation:

In short, I don’t believe we are reaching the end of a nightmare, but rather we are entering one. This will not get easier, but harder. The country is about to enter the crucible. This test of our republic is without a true comparison.

Nightmare, crucible, without comparison. I don’t follow the Mueller drama because I do have a life but it sounds like things are getting hairy for the Muellerites if they are howling at the moon like this.

  1. Yeah, the Mueller affair is a big fat nothing; some relatively minor grifts and the usual rich-people shenanigans that nearly all the affluent are committing if anyone bothered to look.

I think Mueller is being held out as a conquering hero who will arrive any day now to save us all as an excuse for inaction and political lethargy. “Waiting for Mueller,” but Mueller never arrives at the destination they expect. It’s a big farce with loads of willing participants, much like the ACA mostly turned out to be.

  2. The Mueller “investigation” reminds me a lot of the Smolensk investigation in Poland, years and years of “explosive new evidence” or “new revelations” and “important new questions” that add up to….. nothing and eventual fade out as those who’ve been working people up begin disinvesting in that particular scam.
Both also remind me of Nigerian 419 scams, it’s surprising and sad that people can lie to themselves so thoroughly that they believe something could ever come of them

  3. The SNL female cast members sung about Robert Mueller’s report to the tune of “All I Want for Christmas.” It was pathetic.

    1. “sung about Robert Mueller’s report to the tune of “All I Want for Christmas.”

I imagine it was simultaneously hilarious (not for the reasons intended) and deeply sad…. probably not the effect they hoped for… brrrrrrrrrr

  4. Hey, don’t worry about Mueller. If you watched the Tucker Carlson show tonight, you learned that the greatest danger the world is facing is imminent nuclear war, because Trump is being so mean and undiplomatic with Putin, while he’s being played for a sucker by the Ukrainian fascists.

Carlson’s guest was the imminent Russia expert Stephen Cohen, who has an article posted on thenation.com saying the same thing.
