I used the NYTimes recipe but since I can’t eat cooked onions, I added large portobello mushroom pieces instead for texture. It proved to be a great idea because the mushrooms soaked in the wine and became delicious.
Special thanks go to the wonderful person who generously completed my wedding china set. I don’t know if the person in question wants me to, so I’m not linking. But thank you! The set is very happy here.
P.S. I didn’t use the wine in the photo for the recipe. That would have tasted vile! I used a bottle of Chianti. This is the wine we drank with dinner, and it’s the only kind I like. It’s local with a very light, fruity taste.
Found this on Mike’s blog:
Getting called an alt right Nazi, and then telling people I’m Jewish
The cognitive dissonance is just too delicious
You can literally watch their brain short-circuit as the programmed sound byte Goes off a cliff

This happened to me, too. This is what happens when “Nazi” comes to mean “somebody I disagree with.”
The funniest part was that I was called a Nazi because I denounced Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014. And then I had to watch the same people who condemned me as a Nazi for that go on a two-year obsession with the Russia collusion. So now they think I’m a Nazi because I don’t believe in Russia controlling the US.
You truly can’t make this shit up.
God, what a pitiful little weasel:
Beto O’Rourke said Friday night that he had been wrong for joking at several events in his first two days campaigning in Iowa that his wife has been raising their three children “sometimes with my help.”
The former congressman from Texas, who launched his bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination Thursday, addressed the remarks during a recording of the podcast Political Party LIVE! in Cedar Rapids. The comments triggered complaints from Democratic operatives and activists, many of them women, that female candidates could never similarly joke about their roles raising their children.
“Not only will I not say that again, but I’ll be more thoughtful going forward in the way that I talk about our marriage, and also the way in which I acknowledge the truth of the criticism that I have enjoyed white privilege,” he said.
Why would anybody even consider voting for this little wimp?
Apparently, anybody who opposes anti-Semitism is guilty of the terror attack in New Zealand:
Here’s the video that @Esor__Fasa put up where her friend is attacking Chelsea Clinton at a memorial service and linking her to the New Zealand massacre because Chelsea dared to call out Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitism.
After heavy criticism, @Esor__Fasa deleted her account. pic.twitter.com/njjL9LsRKI

I detest Chelsea Clinton, and I despise her for folding so easily under the attack from this lunatic. But this is the current trend, and it’s a very strong one. It’s totally Soviet, too.
And please don’t tell me that the angry freak deleted her account, so there is no problem. She thought it was ok to attack a public figure openly and make this argument. She obviously inhabits an environment where this is acceptable and laudable. There are more creeps like this. And some of them might be making decisions in your workplace.
One third of preteens who come to the emergency room are there because they are suicidal.
The analyst says, “If it’s between giving your kid a smartphone or an oxycodone pill, I say give her the oxy.”
By the way, like many analysts, he started out treating heroin addicts.
