At It Again

Went online, discovered a busy debate over whether Tucker “caused the shootings,” spat at Twitter, and left.

I’d much rather take the inane thoughts and prayers tweeters than this Soviet-style chest-thumping by the self-righteous crowd.

Every time it’s the same thing. “OMG, thank goodness there was a tragedy because I can now feel like the savior of humanity by condemning and posturing on Twitter about some pet issue” is like a psychological defense these stunted individuals use with scary predictability.

  1. It’s ok, we know he’s your fave.

The Tucker-haters have gone on to gloat about Mitch McConnell’s fractured shoulder and calling him MassacreMitch.

This is the gun control legislation Mitch McConnell won’t allow senators to vote on
…Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called on McConnell to cancel the Senate’s summer recess and reconvene to pass gun control legislation.

“@SenateMajLdr McConnell must call the Senate back for an emergency session to put the House-passed universal background checks legislation on the Senate floor for debate and a vote immediately,” wrote Schumer on Twitter.

The Kentucky Republican has blocked gun control legislation in the Senate that had previously passed the House by wide margins. McConnell had the bills placed on the Senate calendar, rather than having them referred to a committee to potentially be passed by the full Senate. Here’s what that legislation would do.

H.R. 8: Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019

In February this year, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 8: Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019. This bill passed 240-190, with eight Republicans joining almost all Democrats to vote for the bill.

This bill would prohibit most person-to-person firearm transfers unless a background check can be conducted, aiming to close a potential loophole allowing the transfer of firearms without a background check at gun shows or between individuals.

The Senate has not taken any action on the bill since the House passed it.

H.R. 1112 Bipartisan Background Checks Act
This bill would extend to at least 10 days the amount of time firearms dealers must wait for a response from the background check system before the sale can proceed. Currently, they can make the sale if they haven’t received a response in three days.

H.R. 1112 passed in February 2019 by a vote of 240-190. Like H.R. 8, the Senate has taken no action on the bill since it passed….

    1. “Mitch McConnell’s fractured shoulder…”

      Medic alert:

The term “fractured shoulder” is too non-specific to be very useful. It could refer to anything from a minor crack of either the humerus bone (the long bone in your upper arm) or the socket cavity of the scapula (shoulder blade), requiring no significant treatment except wearing an arm sling for about 6 weeks –OR it could refer to multiple displaced bone fragments requiring major surgery.

I didn’t read the linked article in Shakti’s comment (I’m not paying $1 to get through the Washington Post’s miserly paywall), but other Internet sources say Mitchell was “briefly treated and released” from the hospital, so apparently it was the former.

I have multiple adblocks in my browser and refresh the history every so often. It doesn’t work for USA Today
The only site I leave unblocked on ads on is :/

Shoulder injuries, whether fractures or dislocations, are extremely painful.

  2. “Tucker ’caused the shootings,’ spat at Twitter, and left.”

    Tucker spat at Twitter??

I knew from watching his show that he’s an anti-Luddite, but come on!

      1. “She spat at Twitter.”

Tucker is now a trans-gendered “she”? And Fox News still allows him/her on the air??

Ah, well, doesn’t much surprise me anymore!

  3. Rene Boucher fucked up Rand Paul but good
(CNN)Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky said Monday part of his lung was removed this weekend following a 2017 attack by his neighbor.

“Unfortunately, I will have to limit my August activities. Part of my lung damaged by the 2017 assault had to be removed by surgery this weekend,” Paul wrote. “The doctors, nurses, & staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center were great. I should be able to return to the Senate in September.”
Paul was attacked at his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, by his neighbor Rene Boucher, an anesthesiologist and former colleague of Paul’s, on November 3, 2017, that left the senator with six broken ribs and bruised lungs.
Boucher pleaded guilty in March 2018 to one felony charge of assaulting a member of Congress resulting in personal injury. He was sentenced to 30 days along with a year of supervised release, according to a case manager with Kentucky Western District federal court.
According to the plea deal, Boucher said he “had enough” after seeing the senator stack more brush onto a brush pile. In statements to the Kentucky State Police and the FBI, Boucher admitted to running onto Paul’s property and tackling the senator when he wasn’t looking….
