We Won’t Mind

Mike says:

By the way, it was common knowledge in many Twitter feeds and other sites that I visit that Epstein would never make it to trial alive. That was as early as his arrest weeks ago. Why would anyone allow that trial to occur who had any power to stop it? And trust me, all the billionaires Epstein had supplied with trafficked kids had the power to stop it — and they did.

I’m barely even on Twitter but that’s my experience, too. The moment Epstein was arrested, all I saw on Twitter and in my blogroll were tweets saying he’ll be “suicided away.”

Nobody cares how obvious it all is because there won’t be any consequences. People don’t give a toss about Epstein’s victims. They can’t be used to make a point or feel superior. The interest in the story will die down in a couple of weeks.

Some poor low-ranking doofus at the jail will be fired for negligence. The victims will get a few crumbs from Epstein’s estate. No other child rapist will face any consequences. A new procurer of child sex will soon take Epstein’s place and keep serving the same clients.

But we won’t mind because we’ll be happily chasing “white supremacists” or “Russian spies.”

Vacation Over

Vacation is over! Back to work!

Now, what have I missed?

After four trips in 3 countries (or four if you count the Basque Country as a country), I’m all vacationed out. It’s time to stay put.

Seriously, I’ve been away so much that I haven’t done any of my favorite summer activities, and the summer is pretty much over.

Pool Stories

Currently, Klara is into stories about evil godmother. Created and narrated by me, obviously. I end up repeating the word “evil” more times in a day than a preacher from rural Iowa during Bible study.

Today, I was narrating Evil Godmother Story #2,889,987 in the swimming pool. When I finally lifted my eyes, I saw that we were surrounded by all of the kids in the pool who were listening to the story like little fishes swarming around a blob of fish food.

Let’s Protest!

I haven’t been to a protest in years because there haven’t been any good ones but I’d go to a protest against the attempts to cover-up the crimes Epstein facilitated. I hate protests that are not actionable and represent a prayer to a vaguely defined deity instead of a concrete demand aimed at specific authorities.

“Greed is bad! Trump is evil! Stop global warming! Sexual harassment is bad!”

Yeah, but what do you want? For everything to be good and nothing be bad?

“I want the boo-boo to go away!”

Demanding an investigation into Epstein’s crimes, all of his accomplices, and his death is concrete and specific, though. Maybe a special investigator should be appointed. Until people go to jail for raping kids together with Epstein, protests should go on.

How about this? Or are we only good for pathetic pussy spectacles and cosplaying hooded ladies from an idiotic TV series?

Epstein Updates

Reuters:

At the MCC, two jail guards are required to make separate checks on all prisoners every 30 minutes, but that procedure was not followed overnight, according to the source. In addition, every 15 minutes guards are required to make another check on prisoners who are on suicide watch.

Guardian:

Judge Kenneth Marra ordered Virginia Roberts’s accusations about Andrew, the Duke of York, to be struck from the record and denied her attempt to join a lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein, a friend of the prince and a convicted sex offender. “At this juncture in the proceedings, these lurid details are unnecessary,” Marra wrote in his order, issued at the US district court in southern Florida on Tuesday morning. “These unnecessary details shall be stricken.”

Not a peep from #MeTooers. The victims aren’t rich actresses whoring these out for parts in movies, so to hell with them.

Just wait and see, there will be zero repercussions for anybody male who participated in Epstein’s crimes.
