Letters of Recommendation

We are getting much, much higher quality students now than when I first got here 10 years ago. It’s like we are teaching an entirely different student population, and that’s great.

The downside is that I now have to write letters of recommendation for graduate school, which I never did before. And if done right, it’s very hard, time-consuming work. I’m very happy to do it but I never understood why people used to complain about the time it takes them to write recommendation letters. Now I totally get it. If you really believe in the students and want to write really good letters, it’s hard.

  1. It’s good to know you are getting better students, you deserve them, and they deserve you! Glad you believe in them and want to give good reports. They must be worth it!
