Seriously, though, am I cheap? In FB everybody shares how they bought $200 Christmas gifts for their toddlers. People who have much smaller incomes, too. And I got Klara a $16 rainbow kitty that she’s been asking for.
What am I supposed to do, though? Get the kitty custom-made and stuffed with diamonds? I asked her many times, and she was adamant about wanting the kitty.
Two men gang-rape a woman for hours but the judges worry less about the victim than about the rapists and try to ensure that their punishment is not too harsh.
I can’t even.
I know people say I’m a drama queen but then what do you call somebody who posts on Facebook that a relative moved in for a couple of weeks and she’s “grieving the peaceful life we had before and grieving the quiet existence of just our family and grieving etc etc and etc and ad infinitum.”
I understand missing your normal lifestyle or feeling inconvenienced. But grieving? I went out today and suddenly realized I was passing the florist shop where I had bought flowers for my friend’s funeral in September. What I felt when I saw the store is grieving. Because somebody died.
Why do people feel the need to exaggerate everything so much? It’s really annoying.
It’s really weird that people still write about “the mysterious death” of Brittany Murphy. There’s no mystery. She was purchased for a party in a Russian oligarch’s mansion. Every Hollywood starlet and every singer makes money doing these appearances.
When Murphy appeared at the party, though, she was completely out of it, she was so high. The oligarch was mad and started asking for his money back. The actress, in the meantime, joined the guests in uncontrollable drug consumption.
The next day, she was dead.
This story was published in every Russian newspaper the morning after the party. It’s really no mystery.
Cultural differences are so real. Who but an Anglo would create a stick library for others?
Nobody from my culture, for sure. It would be destroyed in a day where I’m from.
I’m in absolute awe of these people. And of course they build the best countries while we… You know.
JK Rowling – whom I hope never have to read except on Twitter – is getting hounded and vilified for tweeting this:
Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?
Think back to 10-15 years ago. If you heard this story then, wouldn’t you have automatically assumed she was being persecuted by right-wing religious fanatics?
And today everybody immediately understands she’s being hounded by the most progressive of lefties while every religious right-winger is furiously liking her tweet.
And this is what happens when companies try to police customers’ morality. Note that as all prudes, they have the dirtiest minds ever. I had to stare at many of the names trying to figure out what was supposed to be wrong with them.
