And the Winner Is…

Folks, I watched as much of the debate as I could and I have to conclude that, to my greatest regret, Buttigieg won by a large margin. I now understand why he’s winning primaries. I’m obviously not for him but I now get it. He’s a serious candidate. It looked as if he was the only person who actually made the effort to prepare. Hate him, hate him, hate him but he won.

Klobuchar came second and Biden third.

Bloomberg was a total doozy, so let’s forget about him now. He’s a waste of space.

The Worst

Seriously, the worst thing they have on Bloomberg is that he said “I’d do you in a moment” to somebody 90 years ago? Do they not understand that to voters it sounds like “I’ll send morality police after you the second I’m elected”? Because everybody has made “comments” five million years ago that are now suddenly beyond the pale for the superwoke.

So pathetic.

P.S. Bernie at least stuck some effective daggers into Bloomberg.

Why is Bloomberg apologizing for saying that most of the crime is in minority neighborhoods? Is it some sort of a revelation for anybody?

What is it with making people apologize for saying obvious things?

Bloomberg isn’t bad because he stated the obvious. He’s bad because he’s an oligarch who is trying to buy an election.

Watching the Debate

I was hoping Bernie would really go after Bloomberg but he’s just repeating his campaign talking points. Good as they might be, where’s the word “oligarchy”? Where’s “buying election” or “former Republican”?

Warren is mishandling it, too. Bloomberg “made comments” about women. This is deeply annoying. The language of class struggle is dead. Now it’s all about who made non-PC comments. Which Warren herself made as recently as today.

Bloomberg’s argument is “I’m a manager! I’m from New York!” What a clueless SOB.

I was kind of shocked to see Biden on the stage. Hasn’t he dropped out?

And what’s with the stupid fixation on stop and frisk? Not enough rich snowflakes have been pandered to already?

I hate, hate, hate to say this but Buttigieg has the best zingers and is doing the best so far.

Bernie is making play for people in their 70s. Which is kind of weird. Who is it that’s been in the workplace for 45 years and is likely to vote for Bernie? That’s the last group in the country to vote for him. Love the dude but he has zero proposals for anybody over 40, let alone anybody who’s worked for that many years.

Everybody is so desperate, they are rolling out the Berniebro mythology against Bernie. Pathetic.

In response, Bernie is rolling out the “Russian interference” mythology. Oh Lordy.

Klobuchar disappointed by saying the supremely ridiculous “the way to stop sexism on the internet is to nominate a woman.”

As of now, it’s all racism-sexism and zero substance.

It’s offensive to my sensibilities to have Bloomberg on the debate stage. What’s the point of even being a Democrat if we still have to stare at these distasteful, horrible people who buy their way in? What am I, a Republican, that I have to be subjected to this?

I have class consciousness. This offends me. We can debate whether we are for Bernie or Warren, but those are legitimate, real candidates. This guy is a corrupt embarrassment.

Which Woman to Call?

Also, if when you have a mess and you need to clean it up, you call a woman. But what if you are a woman? Pronouns: she, her, whatever. Who do you call? Another woman? Maybe one you dragged away from her family in Honduras so she can clean your house for under a minimum wage?

The Elites

The WashPo published a completely serious, non-ironic article titled:

Then, they got scared and changed the title. Kept the article, though.

The article was written by a college professor in the Humanities. But it’s all a total slander that college professors can be shills for the elites. How dare you, evil rube, even to suggest they can.

Cleaning Ladies

Elizabeth Warren: “When you’ve got a mess and you really need it cleaned up, you call a woman and get the job done.

Actually, I call my husband because – surprise! – women can suck at cleaning. I know it would come as a shock to Elizabeth Warren but people who are under the age of 70 have already clocked on to the idea that cleaning isn’t done using one’s genitals.

At my house, we use a cleaning service that has two women and one man. And guess what? The man hasn’t tripped on his penis a single time while vacuuming. I know, shocking.

It’s also quite funny how it’s not ok to say that women are the people who have ovaries but it’s perfectly acceptable to say that women are people who clean.

Hashtag Feminism and Global Solidarity

The enthusiasm that young feminist academics in the US have for hashtag feminism is blinding them to how detrimental it has been to regional feminisms.

Here’s an example. In Ukraine, the situation with rape and sexual molestation is horrific. Not US-horrific but really horrific. There was a campaign in Ukraine that arose from a gang rape where the victim was tortured and murdered. Women started speaking out, and it was an important moment where people were finally talking about why things were so bad.

And then the stupid #MeToo happened. And since the Anglosphere is so dominant, its trivial concerns about the plight of aging actresses and pouty graduate students completely drowned out everything else. It became easy to ignore the work that Ukrainian feminists were doing by linking them to this arrant idiocy.

That conversation pretty much died in Ukraine and the opportunity was lost. It’s like when unemployed workers discuss their financial hardships and then some rich clueless fuck shows up and starts fussing about the subpar caviar she was served at a five-star restaurant. And the conversation dies because everybody is too embarrassed to be associated with that sort of cluelessness.

I’m sick and tired of hearing one after another clueless American feminist go on about the “global solidarity” created by “the #MeToo moment.” There is no global solidarity because people exist in wildly different conditions. You can afford to fuss about your “preferred pronouns” and imperfect hookups but other people have real problems. And your incessant posturing about how your problems are the most problematic ever isn’t helping.
