Geodes

I learned the word geode (am I even spelling it right?) and what it actually is from my 4-year-old. Older boys at church taught her how to find geodes and smash them with bricks.

How come I never knew about this and what else am I missing?

Another Hoax

Folks, remember that whole “napping while black” thing at Yale?

Turns out it was all a hoax. The student waa singled out for persecution for standing up for a religious – oh, the irony! – black guy. Her department wants to hire an African American but only the kind who obediently parrots what he’s told by his moral superiors. She stood up for him and that’s when the harassment began. And what’s the best thing to do to stave off accusations of racial bigotry? Label the accuser a bigot, of course. Tell me you weren’t taken in at least for a minute by the outrage over how “black people can’t even take a nap in piece, raaaaaaceeeeeeesm!” When the real racism – a black guy being denied a job for not being an Uncle Tom – was completely erased from view.

I don’t think there’s one of these incidents that provoked massive outrage that didn’t turn out to be a hoax. Remember the Harvard professor “arrested for being black on campus”? Remember Michael Brown? I really bought into that one. Remember Jussie Smollett?

We recently talked about liberal guilt. These hoaxes feed the sweet, delicious guilt while humiliating black and working class people. It all needs to stop.
