COVID Image of the Day

This is from the CDC:

Footnote two says: “Percent of expected deaths is the number of deaths for all causes for this week in 2020 compared to the average number across the same week in 2017–2019.”

Overall mortality is the only interesting number at this point, given that deaths get coded as COVID very aggressively and creatively.

  1. In case you missed, I found the story of this small college weathering the coronavirus crisis interesting and inspiring. David Whidden’s descriptions reminded of quite a few thing you shared during the years, and he has a positive outlook re online education after the crisis: “I have already had students tell me that one thing they’ve learned is that they do better in the face-to-face classroom. ”

Am unsure how much your college resembles “no frills ed” he described.
