Keep Emotions Inside

“Mommy,” says Klara decisively, “do not freak out. Got it? Keep your emotions inside your body and don’t freak out, ok? There’s something I got to show you but you have to stay calm.”

I didn’t teach her any of this, obviously. I’m actually the most cool-headed and composed person in existence around her.

What she had to show me, by the way, is that she got some Christmas ornaments out of storage and decorated her room.

  1. Since I recommended you plastic shields, I feel a responsibility to warn they are completely useless in contrast to masks:

// After a coronavirus outbreak where only those wearing plastic visors were infected, the Swiss government has said plastic shields are inadequate protection and should only be worn in combination with a face mask.

Health officials in the canton of Graübunden studying a recent outbreak among staff at a hotel found a worrying trend – all of those who were infected wore plastic face shields, while those who avoided infection wore face masks.

Several employees of the hotel tested positive along with a guest.

Btw, regarding small kids, a 64-year-old Israeli kindergarten teacher is dead. She had health conditions and asked parents not send their kids if they had family members in isolation because of those family members being (potentially) infected with coronavirus. However, some of those parents did send kids and, most likely, she received the virus from one of them.

Since yesterday, 6 more died (406 total), 6 more were put on ventilators (62 total) and 21 more (238 total) are in serious condition. You said the total number of discovered cases doesn’t matter (27729 total, +227 since yesterday), but as it rises the other three numbers rise with it.

    1. I highly recommend quitting the news and concentrating on information released by people who are scientists. This virus – like any of them – is playing itself out. Viruses lose potency over time. So is this one.

Please don’t watch news coverage if you value your sanity. There is an aggressive effort to drive us all crazy so that we’d be terrified enough to beg for our welfare to be taken away. But we control our news intake. We can resist.

    🤣🤣🤣

So are you going to run with Klara’s impromptu celebration of Christmas in July? You can pretend it’s cold, the wind is howling and giant icicles are hanging from the roof.
