Floyd Footage

I don’t know what everybody else sees in the released footage of George Floyd but to me the footage is pretty damning. The police should have called an ambulance because Floyd was clearly unwell from the start and needed to be sedated and put under medical observation. What they were trying to achieve by struggling with a person who had no control over his faculties is a mystery.

The police acted extremely irresponsibly and should absolutely stand trial. To me, this is a case of criminal negligence.

None of this excuses the rioters, obviously. I hope this doesn’t need to be said. Compared to what these – once again, clearly culpable – police did, the “mostly peaceful protesters” are guilty of so much more. A lot of blood is on their hands.

  1. “The police should have called an ambulance because Floyd was clearly unwell from the start and needed to be sedated and put under medical observation.”

It’s my understanding that the police did call for an ambulance and in fact he was being restrained in anticipation of its arrival.

It appears plausible that the proximate cause of Mr. Floyd’s death may have been a fentanyl overdose.

Rod Dreher’s post on this subject is highly instructive.

Tucker Carlson’s question about whether the selectively-edited release of the bodycam videos by the Minnesota Attorney General were politically-motivated to inflame public opinion is a very, very good one.

  2. The entire incident just shows the need for proper diversity training in police departments. Assigning a black cop to restrain a black suspect would have avoided the obvious symbolism of white supremacy inherent in a white cop restraining a black suspect.

Liars gonna lie, whatever – facts are just there to hang their lies on.
