I’m definitely with the 56%. I make more money, have more savings, drive a better car, and planning a major reno. I’m speaking in purely economic terms right now because that’s what the question seems to be about.
How about you?

Broadly, I’m doing about the same as I was 4 years ago. There was a couple years in between when I was doing better. None of it had much to do with politics.
Economically, I’m doing better. I used to make $10 an hour, now I make $11. Yippee.

My situation isn’t political either. Except maybe for the fact that we unionized and finally got raises.
Are you going to go to college?

That’s awesome! But surely your answer wouldn’t change if you weren’t just talking in an economic sense?
That stat doesn’t seem to mean much if all of these incumbents didn’t crack 50% and still won reeelection.

My lifestyle hasn’t changed appreciably. My net worth keeps going up every year thanks to the stock market, but that will probably benefit my heirs more than me.
Assuming I don’t outlive all of them, of course. 🙂

I got a small inheritance in late 2017 and that is key, it’s made it possible to live more easily. Had it not been for that, I’d be worse off, almost worryingly so.

Same, really, but looking forward to being better off very soon, once husband finishes school.

Economically, I am doing equally well, perhaps a tiny bit better, but I am fortunate that I am an academic with a very stable job situation. Personally and career-wise, I am doing a lot better. I have learnt and grown considerably since 2016, and this has been reflected in my research — although it hasn’t yet translated to higher pay given the slow nature of these things in academia. But hopefully sometime soon!
