Movie Recommendation

I highly recommend watching the documentary What Killed Michael Brown? by one of the greatest thinkers of our time, Shelby Steele. This film is a must-see for anybody wondering why there are riots going on and when they are going to end.

In his signature calm and unhurried manner, Steele explains how the blueprint for the riots was created by the Obama administration, how the groups that are now burning down neighborhoods and killing people were first formed, and what it is that they want to achieve.

Amazon is refusing to post the movie, so if you want to see it use Vimeo. It’s funny how everything is racist yet the silencing of a leading black thinker isn’t.

  1. Glenn Loury and John McWhorter discuss Shelby Steele’s documentary here (starting at 28:40) spoiler: they think it’s really great and like the brilliant folks they are, they have a few quibbles here and there (which are also interesting and illuminating).

  2. Cliff… To the point they make about wishing Shelby Steele had gone deeper into the policies that made it difficult for the “negro to prosper”, I read a very interesting book by Jason Riley the summer of 2014 called “Please Stop Helping Us”. I wonder if they know about it. Jason compiled statistics that prove the policies actually harm black people.

Also, thanks for sharing. I had never heard of these men and this interview was so illuminating. And I can’t wait to watch the movie.
