For those who are repeating that the COVID hysteria will be over soon, here’s a reminder: airports still require that you take your shoes off 20 years after 9/11.
A trained seal would already learn its lesson and not expect stolen civil rights magically to come back once “the danger” passes.
Don’t worry, after you reach 75 years old, the requirement to remove your shoes and your jacket will be waived.

In the early 1940s, there were really draconian restrictions put on people in this country. People obeyed them. After the Second World War was over, people went back to their old ways of behaving. I think the same thing will happen this time.
In reply to Dreidel’s comment above, I am 76 years old. I still take off my shoes and jacket.

But you’re no longer legally required to do so. Inform the airport agent of your age, and assert your rights.

“repeating that the COVID hysteria will be over soon”
It takes an active level of denial to think that, so many people in a position to know have been extremely clear that this is the new normal they want. No schools, no police, no small businesses, no recreational travel, enforced ethno-racial hostility etc… But many people out of a combination of denial and naivete can’t bring themselves to think they’re being serious….
