An Example from Fences

One example from Fences to explain what I mean.

It’s 1957. An uneducated working-class black woman who doesn’t have a TV tells her husband, “I’ve got eighteen years of my life invested in you.”

It’s fake. Nobody in the play talked like they live on Fifth Avenue until now, and then she comes out with this Oprah talk.
