The Same Direction

It’s easy to dunk on Canada but we are going in this direction, too:

  1. These Toronto School Board poo-bahs (intentional misspelling) are as woke as they come. And, this particular cancel is not their first rodeo.

But, and here’s the thing, they’re actually pretty mainstream within the elites that run the True North™ (from coast to coast to coast).

Yes, indeedy, “it’s easy to dunk on Canada.”

  2. This is something so crazy that it defies belief. But then, reconsidering, this is absolute proof that Wokism is indeed a religion.

  3. I love the way these same people looove to bring up the Inquisition and the crusades and colonialism at every possibile opportunity, as examples of how dastardly organized religion is (and by organized religion, they always mean Christianity). But we mustn’t mention Islam and atrocities in the same sentence, as we might be fostering hatred, or offending delicate sensibilities (or Islam and slavery, or Islam and conquest, or Islam and women’s rights, or Islam and homosexuality, or Islam and capital punishment…). Christians must have every past offense smeared in our faces forever, no matter how distant in history. But we mustn’t ever offend a Muslim. One suspects this is because they know perfectly well that the practicing Christian is exceedingly unlikely to retaliate. They are not so sure about the Muslims.

  4. “the crusades and colonialism at every possible opportunity”

    1) because they don’t know or don’t understand or willfully misunderstand the history of these events. For example, the historical antecedent of the Crusades was the forcible conquest/conversion of vast Christian territories throughout the middle east including Jerusalem.

    2) because their wokester pseudo-religion, unlike the dominant strains within the Judeo-Christian tradition, doesn’t have a conception of the judgement and redemption of the individual before a loving God. For them, our world is composed up of imagined historical collective categories based on immutable characteristics like skin colour that pre-determine one’s standing in the world. In Christianity, the idea of collective guilt or historical guilt or “blood-guilt” is most often understood as a serious error/heresy – a standard Biblical reference here would be Ezekiel 18:19-20 “‘Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?’ Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live. The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.”

    1. I dunno. It seems to be a much less complicated thought process for most. It’s a category error: they view Christianity as a religion, and being irreligious (or at any rate, unaware of their religion– certainly they have one), find it hateful. For whatever reason, they view Islam as a race/ethnicity and chose to ignore that it’s a religion. If I had to guess, I’d say that’s either some clever propaganda on the part of Islam, or a simple “enemy of my enemy is my friend” mistake.

Either way, I think when the rubble stops falling, we will see quite a lot of the wokesters become enthusiastic Muslim converts. They hunger for group membership, discipline, and authority, and the religion they’re making up is spiritually vapid and lacks the things they hunger for. They’ll fall hard for anything that offers them what they’re missing.

Excellent take on the situation. Here in Europe it’s already happening: among new converts to Islam many are young men and women disillusioned with the empty promises of Woke propaganda and thirsty for absolute certainties and promises of heaven on earth.
