Are you noticing, though, that it’s not even positive or negative, vaccinated or unvaccinated, infectious or not? It’s strictly about essential vs non-essential, with the non-essential totally lording it over the essential.

You are too essential to deserve consideration. To deserve a face, a school, a body, a mind, an experience of normalcy. Shut up and provide your body for medical experimentation and your hands for work.

In the USSR, it was all about the workers and the peasants. The first ever state of the workers and the peasants! All power to the working classes! But the reality was that workers lived in barracks and peasants weren’t allowed to have passports so that they wouldn’t be able to leave their place of residence. They were so essential they had to stay put and weren’t allowed any form of ID.

One very disturbing thing about reality TV shows these days is that people with names – designers, stylists, models, etc – do get to have faces. But in the background, there are nameless, faceless peons wearing a mask and a facial shield at once. It’s such a clear, direct representation of who counts as a full-scale human being that it’s almost scary.

There are also the half-human types who are close enough to the real humans that they are allowed to wear just a mask, without a plastic shield over it.

It’s as if being rich and having many online followers cleansed you of illness. And being a no-name wage worker made you a dirty, disease-carrying rat.

And it’s not just TV. We’ve all seen the same horrible stuff at political gatherings, art shows for fancy people, etc. Every catered event is going in this direction.

I can already imagine a coming-of-age novel about a little girl who always dreamt of one day being able to show her face, of being treated as a human being and not dirty vermin or a disease vector. . .

I don’t want to be a grandma who tells little kids about the olden times when you didn’t have to be rich to be able to show your face. We are slipping into some really dark shit here, people. We need to stop.

There’s absolutely nothing I love more at work than the days like today when there are no students or faculty on campus and I’m the only person in the building.

I don’t hate people but I don’t necessarily need them as much. Or not in any physical proximity.

I’m waiting for an endodontist appointment with what is probably a root canal. The dentist and the endodontist are offering me all sorts of pain prescriptions in the meantime. I’m refusing even though it’s serious pain because I don’t like medication. This is one reason why I won’t take a COVID therapeutic (aka “vaccine”) when I don’t even have COVID.

For the particularly trenchant, COVID vaccine doesn’t prevent infection and spread and never aimed to do so. Just like my taking a pain med for my toothache won’t prevent your tooth from hurting. If you don’t support medicating me for the toothache against my will, why would you support medicating me for COVID against my will?

By the way, more people died of COVID in the US in 2021 than in 2020, which supports the already obvious truth that COVID vaccines don’t stop infection and spread.

I don’t care if Rittenhouse tattoos the collected works of Ibram Kendi all over his body and wraps himself in a flag saying “Kamala 2024,” it’s still self-defense. It wasn’t self-defense because I projected my political beliefs on this kid but because it was actually self-defense.
