For at least 20 years, every poll of public opinion demonstrated that Americans want less immigration. Americans are the most welcoming and kind people towards immigrants but at this point they overwhelmingly agree that there’s been too much immigration. Large majorities of people of all political persuasions agree. And yet this very strong wish of the electorate has been completely disregarded by politicians of every single administration.

What kind of democracy is it where people get the exact opposite of what they want, again and again and again?

I think that the wishes of the American people should finally be respected. I believe there should be a pause on immigration of all kinds. There needs to be a period of time, say, a couple of decades, where the existing new citizens get absorbed and assimilated to the culture. Not only is this reasonable, it is, I repeat, what the overwhelming majority wants. Which means that is what should happen.

Elon Musk is smart. He reoriented everybody’s attention away from his exceptionally unpopular stance on H1-B visas towards the pedo rape scandal in the UK. It’s a very real scandal, and he’s done the world a great favor by attracting attention to it. But what a smart way to emerge from his own recent troubles.

Soros should refuse. He doesn’t believe in the nation-state and doesn’t want it to exist. He shouldn’t be receiving honors from nation-states. I refused to be honored at the “Admirable Womxn” event because I’m not a womxn. Why can’t an elderly, mega rich man choose his principles over a meaningless (to him) bauble is incomprehensible. Why, in short, is he so unfree after doing his darndest to inflict neoliberal freedom worship on all of us?

In reality, it’s not STEM vs Humanities. It’s bloody Psychology – a completely fake degree that its own faculty openly refer to as “fluff” – that’s destroying higher ed. Half of the incoming Freshman class goes into psychology, and then everybody who flunks out of actual disciplines joins them there. There are no jobs for a BA in psychology because the degree doesn’t let you see patients or offer counseling.

There’s a tragic shortage of competent psych providers but that’s an issue that is entirely disconnected from the overproduction of Psychology BAs.

Netflix is premiering a new show with Meghan Markle where she’s going to attempt to position herself as a new Martha Stewart.

The makers of the show are so unprofessional that they don’t understand that the reason behind Martha Stewart’s outlandish popularity wasn’t her recipes or flower arrangements. Stewart has a phlegmatic temperament, which reads as low-anxiety. Her female fans were mesmerized by what they perceived as a non-anxious woman in a culture that plays up neurotic female behavior.

Meghan Markle comports herself as a standard neurotic. The persona of a calm domestic goddess is alien to her every faculty. That’s why she looks so weird surrounded by the same flower pots that made Martha Stewart a billionaire.

I very much despise the use of words like “grooming” as a shamefaced stand-in for “rape” and “trafficking” to substitute “pimping.” The same goes for “sex work” instead of “prostitution.”

Let’s avoid this Newspeak and express ourselves clearly.
