I had a bit of a debate with Mike Cernovich, whom I very much respect but whose persistent dislike of Ukraine baffles me. I asked him about the reasons for this strange rejection of the side of the conflict that defends all of Cernovich’s own values.

In response, he recited some points of Russian propaganda from 2014. And here is the funny part. Some of these propaganda points were so obscure that I never heard of them before. You can imagine how obscure they must be if even I had never heard them. I literally had to Google them in the middle of the conversation because, in spite of being immersed in this stuff for 13 years, these specific permutations of Russia’s propagandistic rhetoric were new to me.

For those who are not following, this can only mean that this is far from the dominant branch of Russian propaganda. This is some obscure arcane stuff that was rolled out at some point and then abandoned as unproductive.

This is exactly like the bizarre claims that the Cooper fellow made on the Tucker Carlson show. There are five trillion legitimate criticisms one can make of the Bolsheviks. But he comes out with some invented story, popularized by one obscure Russian émigré. He could prove his point very easily with actual facts, but instead he is led to make an insane statement that makes him the butt of every joke.

This is identical to the kind of propaganda that has warped the minds of the Left. Not in the content of the propaganda points, of course, but in their complete divorce from reality.
