Are people really that dumb? This i/o guy writes about IQ. It’s his whole thing. And he sincerely doesn’t understand that these loans are excellent political capital. Imagine the electoral ads. “I’m running for president and I still have college loans.” “I’m so clean and non-corrupt that after years in Congress, I still haven’t been able to pay down my college loans.” You’d have to be a total female stereotype to let go of such a priceless discursive weapon.

C’mon Kid, don’t you remember AOC denouncing the patriarchy while claiming, “I do my own makeup” ;-D

This net worth is close to the median in the US for people AOC’s age. Another important member of congress whose net worth is close to the median for his age is House Majority Leader Steve Scalise. Forbes reported a net worth of $350K for him a few years ago, when he was a candidate for Speaker. People like this are valuable to us, because an increasing focus on personal enrichment is a broad trend (look for instance at how the most popular majors in college have changed over the years).
