Church Food

How you know that Ukrainians have joined the parish:

I make these crepes for my family but unfortunately I can no longer eat them myself.

    😀

We tend to bring jambalaya. But I have adapted to the church environment and also learned to make hummus and za’atar bread.

Thank you for not calling them ‘pancakes’! That drives me crazy.

What are they called in Ukrainian? Something like mlintsi?

In another part of town I stumbled across a small artisanal bakery that seemed to be run by a Ukrainian, great stuff like pampushki and a thing sort of like a pizza crust but with white cheese in the middle, very… filling and heavy. A Ukrainian takeout also opened a few hundred meters from where I live, it doesn’t advertise as Ukrainian and the dishes are things also found in Polish cuisine but really, really good, especially the chicken Kiev (called de volaille in Polish for some reason).

What no cabbage rolls? In Saskatchewan, that would be immoral, if not illegal ;-D
