A Good News Update

As an update to the preceding posts: because of vast international pressure and an active intervention of the US Ambassador to Belgium, Nathan Cofnas has been reinstated at Ghent University.

The evil rector has been vanquished.

This is what political scientists call the soft power of the US. This power is finally being used for good.

They wanted to make him the scapegoat of their evil machinations.

Still, we’re just keeping the wolves at bay: they’re resting, not retreating, and the trans-identified bloke-turned-lady rector of Ghent University is just one of the many wolves-in-chief manning the citadels. They are already among us, and until the wolves within are toppled, we’ll never be safe enough to defeat the wolves without.

There is a reason why Dante placed traitors and chesters as the worst sinners at the bottom of Hell: we defeat and crush the enemies outside, but the enemies within will get the better of us if we do not identify and annihilate them before they betray us.

I was just now reading comments from an academic on X who claims that rejecting job candidates in academia because you don’t agree with their findings is a normal thing to do, and “everyone does it.” He writes under his own name, utterly oblivious to how atrocious the idea is of not hiring anybody whose research contradicts your preconceived notions.

And yes, it’s bizarre that the State Department had to interfere to make sure that the Belgian university fulfills its contract with the American professor.
