Soviet and then Russian propaganda has been extremely effective everywhere in the West, convincing Westerners to feel ashamed of their civilization. In our country, the idea that America is uniquely evil and to blame for everything bad that ever happened in the world has conquered both the political left and the political right.
What’s interesting, though, is that this propagandistic effort only goes in one direction. No traces of any counterpropaganda could be found in the USSR or Russia. Soviet and later Russian propagandists can float absolutely insane stories and, within a few years, have them taught at every college and ponderously announced on every podcast in the West.
