My point of view on Russell Brand’s conviction is that, of course, it’s politically motivated but I don’t think it’s a terrible thing that the kind of debauchery in which he admits to have engaged is becoming illegal.

The kind of sex life he led for decades didn’t make Brand happy. He says that himself. It most certainly didn’t make the participating women happy. What anybody consented to is immaterial. Society briefly considered what Brand and his groupies did to be acceptable. Now we are reverting to the normal human attitude of tabooing such acts. People who are failing to catch on to the new social norms will not have a great time.

Brand’s conviction comes on the heels of the Cornell 7 scandal. Both stories point in the same direction. The sexual revolution of the 1960s is dead. And that’s not a bad thing.

The real morons are conservatives who don’t see that these developments are exactly what they’ve been begging for in every condemnation of the sexual revolution they have proffered. You wanted it? It’s happening. What are you whining about? Men and not women will now have to be gatekeepers for sex. That’s new but it’s the result that matters, not how you get there.
