To celebrate this great holiday – my favorite holiday aside from New Year’s and my birthday – I wanted to share with you these artistic renditions of our local fireworks.
Of course, to be completely honest, I’m not really artistic. I’m just a clumsy photographer. Still, I hope that the photos manage to transmit some of my enthusiasm for this holiday. Happy 4th of July, everybody!!!
Really? I can’t stand the Fourth of July or New Years; the fireworks hurt my ears so badly I have to spend most of it in the bathroom (The most sound-proof room in my house for some reason) so that I don’t go deaf. I hope to one day move to a country that’s so unpatriotic that fireworks are never a part of celebrations. Maybe Sweden.

It’s the anniversary of my emigration to Canada, that’s why. 🙂 Thirteen years ago tomorrow I left my country and can’t stop celebrating that decision. It makes me feel kind of cool that Americans are so happy about my arrival on the continent that they celebrate it with fireworks. 🙂
