I’m Not Clarisse Thorn!

So now it seems that some people are confusing me with another feminist blogger called Clarisse Thorn. I had no idea Clarisse Thorn (or pretty much any other blogger) existed when I started blogging 2,5 years ago. I chose Clarissa as my blogging pseudonym because Clarissa was the name of my grandmother who died tragically when she was quite young.

And now I’m getting confused with Clarisse Thorn who is a worthy individual, a good blogger, and a talented writer. But she’s not me. Just read a couple of her posts and a couple of mine, and the difference will become obvious.

Thank you for trying not to confuse CT and Clarissa and here is one of CT’s best (in my opinion) posts about the anti-porn movement for your reading pleasure.

The blog has always made me think of “Clarissa Explains It All,” which was a popular American children’s show in the 90s. Even though I knew that was probably not where you got the name, I still find it apt. 😉

  I found out about the show too after I started blogging. 🙂 Many people think the blog is named after it. And the funniest thing is that I looked a lot like the actress in the show when I was a teenager. I had the same hairstyle, too. 🙂

Initially I thought you were CT too. I found your blog because of a link. I know she comments on Hugo’s blog now and then, but I am unaware of the frequency. I used to read his blog and occasionally commented, but my interest waxes and wanes and I have become less engaged and more disinterested. His bias and posts, plus even some of the readers and their comments is disappointing. It seems very difficult finding people who can express themselves intelligently without digressing into what often sounds like very extreme, illogical and overly emotive language. The subjects he tends to write about seems to ignite that kind of commentary. People all start to sound alike–like acting-out whiney little kids hellbent on sniping, bickering and having to get the last word. Constantly encountering what appears illogical and extreme views disengages me.

  Now I’m starting to think I should have just blogged under my own name from the beginning. It is highly unlikely there would be bloggers with similar names in the Anglo blogosphere. 🙂
  
  As for Hugo’s blog, I think he has almost completely moved to the Good Men project now. His blog just posts announcements fro posts appearing there. In my opinion, he is one of the weakest writers who blogs for GMP.

    I’m catching up here on some of your subjects. I was receiving notification by email, but then when I would open it up the inside would be blank with no links. So I received tons of blank email notifications with only headings. I may have commented now and then, if there had been a way for me to do so. I do not know if you were aware of that or not, but apparently as of today they are working again.
