This is absolutely correct. Within that framework a truly important principle should prevail. Never let the urgent drive out the important!

I have never heard that one. That is something I should write down and recite to myself every single day. I realize that I frequnetly let the urgent drive out the important and now I resolve to stop doing that! 😉 Thanks for those words of wisdom Charles Rowley.

I think part of my problem in life has been working with people who would not believe this, or who refuse to work in the way the post describes. I am *so* tired of being told it is “arrogant” to work on real work during working hours rather than tend to peoples’ passing emergencies.

I really know what you mean. It took me 20 minutes to walk 100 feet to my office today because I was constantly stopped by passing emergencies.
