By “this” I mean the following comment by reader Lear:
People need to know they’re not alone, that their ideas are also shared by others. They need a place to share their voice and be listened to. Your Blog is that place and for that you’re the popular woman you always wanted to be!
I feel very good now.

He tells clients things that make them feel good about themselves (or that will make them feel good about spending a lot of money advertising…. through his agency of course). He’s not the best at it (that would be Ken Cosgrove, accounts) but he’s better than average.

Ah! I haven’t seen this movie.
I don’t really tell people things that make them feel good. I think the most attractive feature of the blog is that, over time, idiots have fallen away from it and now we only have people with interesting, original insights. Nobody posts superficial, stupid crap that abounds on other websites and everywhere in RL.

I am a little surprised that this makes you happy. It merely says that people crave a sense of community. This is a viewpoint that you have expressed dislike for.

Mad Men, one of the few tv shows really, really, really worth watching.
I resisted it for years but when I finally got around to it, contrary to my expectations, I lurved it.

Ah, it’s that scandalous TV show that every other post in my blogroll condemns passionately.
I have never watched it but I find it very curious that people who claim to hate it provide painstaking analysis of every second of every episode.
