Florida is a civilized state. Over a year ago, I discovered in Montreal Perrier water with pink grapefruit flavor. I scoured the stores in IL /MO but couldn’t find it. The first 7/11 in Florida, however, carried the water. That’s civilization.

I grew up there and that just about caused me to spew coffee over my computer… There are lots of adjectives you could use to describe the place but “civilized” wouldn’t be in my first dozen.

Metropolitqan St. Louis? Does this mean that you now have to drive two hours or more to work several times a week? You have not said that you got a driver’s license. If so, congratulations!

No, we still live in the same place. But since it’s so close to the city, it’s Metro St. Louis. I think.
It’s about 30-40 minutes in a car to St. Louis. A car which I still don’t drive. 🙂

I think it’s more that Florida convenience stores recognize the huge market that is Canadian snowbirds and wish to cater to them, thereby increasing their bottom line. But, hey, you could access a product you love and that’s awesome. It’s like me going into a Super de Boer (supermarket in the Netherlands) and being thrilled that they offer Diet Dr Pepper (or Sweet Nectar of the Gods as it’s known in my house).

Straub’s Groceries, a 4 store local chain in St. Louis City and County, has or would order this item, Perrier with pink grapefruit. The store near me (Central West End, Kingshighway and Maryland Aves) has an amazing variety of oddball non-cola drinks, including some European imports and a mindboggling number of root beer and sarsparilla type sodas. Try also International Foods on South Grand Ave (3 blocks south of Arsenal) or on Kirkwood Ave (aka Lindbergh Ave). The Kirkwood Ave branch of this store has a lot of Middle-European products and is the best place for herbal and fruit teas, not to mention a decent poppyseed-paste roll.
