The Class Values of Fetishists

The blog roll keeps on entertaining:

Take, for example, the sexual phenomenon of “wife-sharing” that occupies a small province of polyamory: so many of those men who get off on being cuckolded locate their desire, consciously or unconsciously, in the fact that they are trading women as commodities.  Or take the BDSM community and then try to imagine how such desire would ever be produced (if social consciousness follows social being) in a mode of production where oppression and exploitation are unknown.  Take the sexual fetish community as a whole and investigate the class origin of the values they espouse…

This is priceless, folks. The class origin of the values espoused by fetishists is hard-core humor. And then people say Canadians are not funny.

Now the part that is a little less hilarious is that this guy teaches somewhere in Toronto.

  1. This is part of the discourse that history is evil, because it has classist, racist and sexist legacies in it, that have to be removed so that we can become decent, moral and pure as a whole. Yes, and perhaps incredibly boring.

“Formerly all the world was insane,” — say the subtlest of them, and they blink.

They are clever and know all that has happened: so there is no end to their derision. People still quarrel, but are soon reconciled — otherwise it upsets their stomachs.

They have their little pleasures for the day, and their little pleasures for the night, but they have a regard for health.

“We have discovered happiness,” — say the Last Men, and they blink.

      – I have to say, this looks very tempting at this point in my life. Why can’t I just have that? I’d know how to appreciate it.

I want boredom, a routine. I’m tired of grand passions and huge upheavals. Why don’t they just go away?

This was not supposed to be such a heavy thread. 🙂

      1. I’m sorry you have to find me far more aggressive and even bad-tempered these days. It’s part of what comes from sparring and being hit a lot. Also an apparent idiot government is in power here.

I have just made a video, in any case, denying that I am an American lady, incase people are still getting confused.

          1. Here is my bad-tempered video. Really, it has been a long time coming, but in future when people take me for something I am not, I will just refer them here.

I look forward to your video. Maybe we can start a YouTube dialogue. Nobody else is engaging with me intellectually.

    1. A few years ago, this guy made fun of one of my posts about the USSR because he knew more about it from books than I did from living there. Of course, when we started debating the issue he wilted soon enough. 🙂
