And now I’m going to make some Jewish penicillin for my ailing husband*. I’m sure everybody knows what that is, and it shouldn’t be a riddle, right?

* He has a dislocated disc in his spine, which is not normally treated with penicillin, but hey, it isn’t like anybody has ever been hurt by the Jewish version of this medicine.

Damn you Evelina and your rapid response! This was mine! I tell you, mine!

Anyway, chicken soup (called rosół) is also regarded as something as a cure all in Poland, no matzo though, usually thin noodles. The meat is often served separately and not in the soup itself.

      a pretty representative sample:

        Everybody wins!!! 🙂

Here is how our family Jewish penicillin will look. I’m making it with a whole chicken today, though.

originally, it is supposed to be an old, yellow hen, instead of a young fresh chicken.

Yes, it’s supposed to be intensely yellow. 🙂

Most of the X version of drug Y usually mean sex, but you using the verb “make” makes me think this isn’t what you’re talking about. Also ouch, spine problems suck 😦
