Russia’s Ministry if Defense declared that a nuclear inter-continental missile PC-12M is being currently tested by the Russian armed forces.
The official Russian news agency ITAR-TASS stated that the testing if the missile aims to demonstrate “the meaningful nature of any decision made by the Russian government and the futility of the West threatening Russia with anything.”
Until 1991 this news agency made statements like these all the time. And now it’s back in business.
Two things:
1) Just so you’re aware, you made two typos (“ifs” instead of “of”)
2) Russia already has a nuclear launch capability, right? So isn’t this more just showmanship?

This is just a side show the real threat and the whole of Europe know it is that they will turn of gas supplies to Europe. Russia supplies about 30% of Europe’s natural gas. Without it they will freeze to death in the winter. If Russia invades nothing will be done.

Russia can’t really afford not to sell this gas. That’s the country’s entire economy, and people are used to doing nothing, just living off the natural resources.
But you are right, nothing is being done about the invasion.

By just living off the natural resources, do you mean that many people in Russia do not work but rather just get a form of welfare from the government, which itself is funded by the natural resource revenues?

Yes, welfare, and then there is a whole bunch of crooks and their entourage who live off selling these resources, and then there are endless handouts to people who have “jobs” provided by the state but where no actual work gets done. There are endless state holidays, huge payouts to people who have babies to promote the governmental demographic policies, an army of very well-paid bureaucrats, the teachers who don’t teach, the doctors who don’t treat, the mail carriers who don’t deliver mail, and so on, and on, and on.
This entire time, there was a collective pretense that there was a functional economy. A typical banana republic, as I’m sure you’ve heard.

“The teachers who don’t teach…” that one I find very interesting. So what happens in a typical Russian school? The kids just go in there and do nothing?

No, they learn that Stalin was an effective manager and read stories about little Vova Putin who saved cute little puppies because he was the nicest little boy in the world. Just like we read stories about little Lenin.
