At first, Putin’s propagandists were going to invade Ukraine to save it from Ukrainian neo-Nazis. When no neo-Nazis were found in quantities that would make them sound at least vaguely threatening, a search began for a more convincing threat. Now, Putinoids are planning to save Ukraine from the evil Americans and scary Germans who supposedly organized and financed the Ukrainian protests.
Let’s see what fresh threat they will invent tomorrow. I’m hearing that the Uzbeks are plenty threatening. Or the Québécois. I mean, have you seen the Québécois? They are scary as hell. Or they can be once Putinoids do their work.
The Uzbeks I knew when I lived in Bishkek were not very threatening. I don’t know anybody from Quebec so I will take your word that they are very scary.

I have high confidence in Putinoids’ ability to present the Uzbeks as hugely terrifying. Or anybody else.

Well they certainly manage to demonize the Crimean Tatars who have been committed pacifists since the 1950s and secularists long before that. So I guess they could portray Uzbeks as scary. But, really there is nothing terrifying about people who make plov, naan, and green tea even if they do attend mosque on Friday.

The Uzbeks have the best food in all of the post-Soviet space. And the ones I know are very pro-Ukrainian.

They’re obviously saving Ukraine from Pussy Riot.
