And now the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has entered into a military phase. Russian troops have opened fire at Ukrainians. Several Ukrainians have been wounded and one was killed.
The few existing Russian dissidents keep dreaming of the day when Putin will be condemned as a war criminal at The Hague. I’m thinking it’s more probable that he will be declared a hero there.
Why won’t Obama explain to them why shooting people isn’t nice? WHY???????

Reshat Ametov’s body was found two days ago with signs of torture. I am willing to bet he is not the only Crimean Tatar activist who turns up dead with physical evidence of having been tortured.

This is absolutely horrible. Given the current level of racism in Russia, I’m very fearful of what can happen to Crimean Tatars.

I swear, I’ve never heard so much hysteria supported by so few facts. Ukraine is staying cool and seeking to proceed by diplomacy. I wish the U.S. would stick to diplomacy as well. As an American, I have no standing to comment on racism in other countries. We have a more racist history than anyone, and it continues.
