Three times today I read in different places that Obama was to the right of all Dem candidates in 2008. Where is this coming from? How is Hillary Clinton more of a Leftist than Obama?
I was for Hillary back in 2008 but I never noticed any particular Leftism in her as compared to Obama.
For one thing, Cinton is pro-universal health care (she tried to get it passed with Bill in 1993). Obamacare is a centre-right alternative to universal health care, so that would place Obama to the right of Clinton, if nothing else.

You are right, I forgot about the 1993 bill. I always thought Clinton (Bill, I mean) was never really serious about it.

Here’s an intriguing (unrelated) article:

Hillary and Obama actually have about the same views on health care, unfortunately (Hint: not all of your readers are lefties), but Obama knew that he couldn’t get single-payer health care past Congress, so he didn’t even try. But at least she’s to his right on foreign policy and would be a stronger leader, so if she gets elected, the country (and the world) will be better off than it is now.
