The inspection of the house revealed that what I thought were bullet holes are bore holes from carpenter bees.

Maybe I’m not ready to live in a house after all.

Guess what? Everyone ELSE that walks, swims, crawls, and/or flies wants a nice warm winter home. Can you blame them, after this winter? If you live in the country, the vermin range is wider – not just the usual urban cockroaches trying to gain a foothold, but mice, birds, bats, pillbugs, ants, bees and wasps, and so on. Good door seals help, as does an occasional cleaning of the chimney, if you have one.

My husband and I joke that our carpenter bees are the closest thing we will ever have to a pet.

My son was attempting to persuade us he should get a pet and my husband lifted his eyes from the school newsletter he was reading at the time and said “Warns here headlice are going round the classes, son, maybe you’ll get lucky…” 😀
