So who’s with me on watching the World Cup?
Which team do you want to win? Which team do you really want to lose?
I wanted to do it as a riddle where you’d guess my answers but they are too self-evident.

I have no interest at all in which team wins. Soccer is even more boring than American football.

I’m with David Bellamy, but my facebook feed suggests to me that the world is changing–lots of American friends I didn’t think were fans are really excited. One of my neighbors has covered her house in orange to support the Netherlands, so I guess I’ll follow along with her. Who is the Netherlands’ top rival? Someone tip me off so I can impress her. 😉

I think that Brazil will win, and I hope that Russia will lose.
As to ‘soccer being boring’, I pity the person who thinks so: he has lost so much. But I also envy him: he has no idea of the loss.

Mr Blekhman, I think most sports are boring. I prefer music, reading sf and fantasy, solving mathematics problems, taking long walks, among other things.

I have no cable either, so I was planning to find a way to watch it online. I will have cable after July 1, so the most important games will be accessible.

International soccer is the only type I like to watch (within limits) so I’ll be watching some of the matches but I don’t have any particular favorites and am not even that sure who made it to the finals. Maybe (assuming they made it). Maybe
Spain (though they’re kind of boring)
Germany (because no one else likes them, so that appeals to my contrarian nature)
I sometimes like the Netherlands and Portugal but neither is that consistent.
I seem to remember the Croatians as the most flagrant drama queens in faking injuries so I’d like to see them play (if they’re in it).
