Protowar

From my favorite Philip Bobbitt:

Much of contemporary crime is kind of a protowar against the State, waged against civilians.

The guy wrote this in 2002. And now apply this quote to the riots and looting in Ferguson, MO. Here’s the explanation of all that’s happening in one short sentence.

I have officially handed in my tenure dossier and now I can go back to my favorite hobby of perusing my Bobbitt books. They tend to go on for thousands of pages and every sentence is a gem.

For reader el: when I get to the chapter when Bobbitt talks about Israel, I promise to post many quotes.

    Thank you. 🙂

I would also love to hear how you see Israel of the future, post-nation state. Who lives here, etc.

    1. “Anyway, I don’t really believe USA and EU can change much in the future developments between us and Palestinians.”

      – They can’t change anything as countries or alliances of countries. They can and will change a lot and everywhere through the changes they are leaking throughout the world.

  2. “pro-Palestinian protesters ransacked a branch of competing supermarket chain Tesco in Birmingham on Saturday…harassed staff and customers” –> Are they too against a State?

Sometimes multiculturalism in Europe seems to mean “instead of one ruling people of the nation state, now several peoples can bond together by hating Jews.” Nowadays, locals are too civilized to do a pogrom themselves, but many are happy to satisfy those feelings by using Muslims as a proxy.

  3. In general, would you like to post how you see the future of Europe? What about Xenophobia (against non-Europeans) and anti-semitism? France is in a pit, England is the most anti-semitic country in Europe, future for Jews there looks bleak.

I remember reading “Technology as nature” blog, and he said something like “society that accepts gays but isn’t more feminist than we’re seems strange, but now I think it’s possible.” As a woman, I didn’t find the idea strange at all. In Israel, all marriage is religious, yet this month

“Non-Jewish partners in gay marriage are now entitled to make aliya.
Sa’ar announces change to Law of Return which had previously only allowed for heterosexual partners to receive Israeli citizenship.”

May be, Europeans will be forced to learn to live with Muslims, yet get rid of their Jews. Germany (a few imported from FSU don’t count, especially compared to pre-WW2 rich Jewish history there), France’s Jews are already beginning to move to Israel, then probably England will express its’ true feelings not only in a survey.
