Yet another unknown French guy is given the Nobel Prize in literature. The Nobel is becoming more pathetic and irrelevant by the minute. Who are all these nameless, reader less folks who have been honored with the prize in the recent years?

Was he unknown to you, too? If so there’s a problem. I don’t know of anyone who buys and reads more books than you.

Exactly! All I do is read and look for new authors to read, and I’ve never as much as heard this guy’s name. In the meanwhile, there are crowds of really amazing, super famous writers who are not given Nobels.

Rohinton Mistry, Aravind Adiga, Arundhati Roy, Amitav Ghosh, Margaret Atwood, Juan Goytisolo, Juan Marse, Almudena Grandes, Mohsin Hamid, Bapsi Sidhwa, Julian Barnes, Muriel Barbery. I could continue and continue. These are world-famous authors who have had an enormous impact.
