Rambutan

So I bought both Buddha’s Hand and rambutan. If they turn out disgusting,  I’m coming for you, people who recommended them.

Rambutan turned out to be amazing! !! It’s my new favorite fruit. And the Buddha hand is very citrusy and refreshing. I used it in a salad, and it was great. I’m very happy I discovered them.

Apparently rambutan is related to lychees. How does it compare to them, taste-wise?

Exactly, they taste just like lychees.

My sibs went to tour Malaysia once, and they still rave and reminisce about Rambutan as the best fruit ever! It’s sadly not available in my country and I’ve sadly never tasted it!

Rambutan is very nice, but my favorite exotic fruit is the mangosteen, which is softer and less lychee like with a very unique taste. Apparently hard to come by in the US or most of Europe.

I saw it at the Global Foods store but didn’t know if it made sense to buy it. Maybe now I will. Let’s expand my fruit horizons!

Just don’t eat too much rambutan or you’ll end up with sore throat. In my country rambutan is very cheap 1kg for a dollar so I bought three and ate it with friend during our movie night n we had sore throats next day..I prefer longan than rambutan. You should try matoa i don’t know the english name for matoa but it’s good and sweet. It’s from irian jaya

Here rambutan is so expensive that I couldn’t eat a lot even if I wanted to. 🙂 I will check out matoa if I see it!
