Are Russian Bombers Flying Nuclear Drills Near Europe—Or Just Testing NATO’s Defenses? – The Daily Beast

Putin ‘ s goal now is to prove that NATO is a fiction. He will provoke, and provoke, and provoke some more. Then he will strike. There will be no retaliation because NATO is US and US finds it almost impossible to strike blond, blue – eyed people.

And there are only 2 years left for Putin to make sure NATO falls apart and is revealed for a baseless fantasy it is.

The U. S. was certainly fighting blond, blue-eyed people when I was a baby.

    1. We all know how reluctant the US was to go against Hitler. Not until he was practically vanquished did the US actually send soldiers to fight.

If Putin’s name were Hamid or Jose, we would be seeing a very different reaction from the US. Saddam did about 10% of what Putin is doing, and where is Saddam today?

I don’t think it’s the issue rather than Russian ability to strike back with a vengeance.

Cold War hateful rhetoric against those “blond, blue-eyed people” was just a moment ago.

  3. Putin is doing just what Nato used to do to the Warsaw Pact. In the old days, the Russians would lose a few planes every time they scrambled them through crashes. It was a way of depleting available aircraft without shooting.

  4. Thinking strategically or even tactically is seemingly a lost art. Except for Putin. And Mugabe. And a few people like that. I suppose you have to have a tough enough background to begin to fathom this.

      1. Yeah, agreed. I’m not sure why people in general are so pathetic these days, but it may have something to do with Western guilt and shame regarding colonialism. I think that undermines the capacity to act in a firm, logical or reasoned manner. When people and not just nations can get over this spell that they have allowed to be cast over them, they will realize that they are no more special and no more evil than anybody else. In the mean time, people like Mugabe can kill and maim their political opponents and appointe their wife as their successor and this is all considered nice and good, because his identity allows him to be a thug, a murderer and politically shrewd. It’s really boring and dehumanizing to have to notice that the majority of people in the West are so inept — not just in relation to politics, but in relation to thinking in general. The capacity to think independently — and this includes even professors — is laughingly low. They can have a dogma, but the minute they try to think, guilt and shame cut in, and they have to give it up.

          – I think this is definitely in the right direction. Putin exploits these sentiments very deftly in the speech I analyzed on this blog (and not just in that speech, obviously.)

          1. What Western people do not see is that it is very self-indulgent to sit around and lament how evil you are. Not only that, it gets really, really boring. But I actually think this is why the level of thinking taught in the humanities and elsewhere these days is very, very low. And why, as a result you have all sorts of scope for bigotry, such as creepy Internet guys who preach evolutionary psychology and a confused metaphysics, and so on. Anything goes, because people just are not being taught how to think.
