The shaman was right to begin with: I spent all night stranded at airports and then Air Canada lost my suitcase. And now I’m stranded in Montreal, in the midst of an icy snowstorm without clothes, makeup, ornaments, or hairbrush.
Should have paid attention to the shaman.
Air Canada lost my bags when I got home too. Alaska Airlines had as well, but they also paid me $190 for my trouble, Air Canada representatives just shrugged and asked me for an address to deliver my bags to when they showed up. I’m never flying with them again.

American Airlines has a better flight rewards programme anyway, and flying out of Heathrow T3 isn’t too awful …
Recently I flew AA and had roughly twenty seconds to board my flight after re-clearing security in the US, which obviously meant that my bags weren’t going to make it with me. At least AA had the decency to deliver my luggage to me in person at my hotel before 1100 the next day, which is quite decent considering that I made my connecting flight at almost 0130 and that it was a three-hour flight …
As for the delay, it was Heathrow’s fault, as usual.
But in your case, why not just take VIA Rail and multiply the misery, but be secure in the knowledge that your luggage is (probably) on the train with you? 🙂
