The reason why I don’t remove Ian Welsh and Co from my blogroll is that it is useful to have a measure of insanity at hand. I get many comments on this blog and it isn’t always obvious whether the authors are fit to participate in discussions. So I ask myself how similar the comment is to Walsh ‘ s writings and immediately know if I should let it appear on my blog.

It can be really useful to know where people are getting their ideas. I’ve wasted too much time on all sorts of people trying to address their concerns as if they were original and legitimate, only to find out much later that they had been repeating a line they’d heard on TV. I’m not part of American culture, so understanding their jargon and what it implies has usually been difficult for me.

Or better yet, people on the phone who are endlessly selling junk.
It’s just sad how convinced these robots are that everybody should be “generating revenues” all the time. Who cares if I work at a not-for-profit university? We still need to be generating revenues! Our billionaire governor needs an even bigger mansion. Let’s go generate some cash for him to steal.
